Much like a home or commercial building, every now and then a company’s image could use a bit of a refresh to stay current. Which is why we decided to rebrand our look and even our name. So, without further ado we unveil our slightly shortened company name: Shouldice Stone.
Shouldice isn’t just a business name, it’s our family name. And putting our name – and word – on everything we do is core to how we do business.
As some of you will recall, last year was our company’s 75th anniversary. The business was founded by Bev Shouldice in 1947. Initially, he focused on manufacturing blocks. But as Rob and June Shouldice took over and expanded our product offerings, including stone veneers, we added the word Designer to our name. Now, the company is in the hands of its third-generation owners, Steve and Brad Shouldice.
Looking back over 75 years of marketing materials, dropping the word “designer” just seemed like a natural evolution for where we are today with our product offerings. Our portfolio of completed projects shows how versatile our products are, used in everything from the most traditional homes to the latest architectural styles, Should Stone suits any design.
The overall goal for the re-branding was to carry forward some of the elements in our old brand, but clean it up and create a simpler look. For one, we still have our familiar, iconic S.
One change that many of you will pick up on is that the old branding featured teal as the main colour, with accents of orange sprinkled throughout. Now we have flipped it, with orange as our main colour and teal as an accent.
A big part of the process was revamping our website, to make it easier for our customers to navigate and find what they want. We offer a lot of different products and the design possibilities with our stone are virtually endless. That needed to be reflected on our website, and we did that by making it better organized and more searchable.
Our website address remains the same: Shouldice.ca. The new version is now live, so we encourage you to check in periodically as we fine-tune the final pieces of that particular puzzle.
We’ve also refreshed some of the publications that our customers look forward to getting their hands on. Stone Trends has always been a favourite of our team. It is a fun way to explore the industry and give context to what is happening with stone right now. The new design was created to build off of what we had. We made the issue a bit bigger than before so that we could bring in more experts and share their opinions.
We also worked with our design partners to give Stone Trends more of the look and feel of a magazine that you’d find on the newsstand. We have free downloadable copies available on our site.
Another publication that we’ve redone is our Catalog. The stylish new look incorporates our new logo and orange colour palette. We’ve also simplified our categories and have incorporated some gorgeous new images of Shouldice Stone products in place. A digital version of the revised Catalog will also be available shortly.
As they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same. We’re proud of our company’s new look and feel, but foundation of what we do every day continues to be focused on manufacturing the best quality products on the market and providing our clients with second-to-none customer service. You can count on it. For generations.
